Sliding, Telescopic & Corner-Sliding Gates in Chennai

Sliding, telescopic, and corner-sliding (cantilever) are the three space-saving gate mechanisms SilverVista fabricates for driveways in Chennai and up to 50km beyond, including Sriperumbudur, Chrompet, Pallavaram, and Tambaram. All three avoid the swing arc a hinged gate needs, but each fits a different site constraint — every one of our 13 gate designs can be built in any of the three.

How Each Mechanism Works

Sliding Gate

A single leaf runs on a track parallel to the boundary wall. Needs a straight run of wall space at least equal to the gate’s opening width to park the leaf when open.

Telescopic Gate

Two or more leaves nest and overlap as they open, so the stacked leaves take up roughly half (or less) the wall run a single sliding leaf of the same width would need. Used when the available straight wall is shorter than the opening.

Corner-Sliding (Cantilever) Gate

The track curves around a corner of the compound wall, so the leaf stacks around an internal or external corner instead of along a straight run. Runs on rollers above ground level rather than a ground track, which also suits sloped or uneven driveways.

Which One Fits Your Site

Long, Straight Boundary Wall

A standard sliding gate is usually the simplest and most economical option next to the driveway.

Short Side Wall, Wide Opening

A telescopic gate lets you fit a wide opening without needing a long straight run to park the leaf.

Corner Plot

A corner-sliding (cantilever) gate follows the corner instead of forcing a straight track, where the wall turns near the gate.

Sloped, Uneven or Gravel Driveway

Cantilever-style tracks sit above ground level, avoiding a ground channel that would need levelling.

Every gate is automated using motors SilverVista manufactures in-house rather than a resold third-party unit — see our Gate Automation Chennai page for the piston and crank-type options used across sliding, telescopic, and cantilever installations.

Available in Sliding, Telescopic & Corner-Sliding Configurations

All 13 SilverVista gate designs are buildable as a sliding, telescopic, or corner-sliding gate — the panel design is independent of the mechanism:

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between a telescopic gate and a corner-sliding gate?

A telescopic gate uses two or more overlapping leaves that nest together as they open, so the gate stacks in roughly half (or less) the side-wall length a single sliding leaf of the same opening width would need. A corner-sliding (cantilever) gate instead curves its track around a corner of the compound wall, so the leaf stacks around an internal or external corner rather than along a straight run. Telescopic solves a short straight wall; corner-sliding solves a corner plot.

Is a cantilever or corner-sliding gate better for a sloped or uneven driveway?

Cantilever-style sliding gates run on rollers mounted to a frame above the ground rather than a ground-level track, so there’s no channel to fill with debris or get misaligned by ground movement — this makes them a common choice for sloped, uneven, or gravel driveways where a ground track would be impractical.

Can any SilverVista gate design be built as a telescopic or corner-sliding gate?

Yes. Every gate design in our range is fabricated to order, so the panel design (wood-finish slats, laser-cut patterns, steel bands, and so on) is independent of the operating mechanism — the same design can be built as a sliding, telescopic, corner-sliding, swing, or bi-folding gate depending on your driveway.
